The (very few) Perks of Being Unemployed

The trouble with unemployment is that the minute you wake up in the morning you’re on the job. –Slappy White

Inasmuch as sleeping ’til noon and affecting sluggish behaviour is super tempting while in between jobs, it has not proven an effective method of gaining employment.  Everyone knows maximizing ones time is key to maintaining sanity and avoiding the great torpor of depression.

But when you’ve checked every employment listing, sent out your resume for any position that you may or may not be qualified for, done the dishes, read the paper, done the puzzle, checked your horoscope and called your mother and it’s  not yet noon, time can seem quite like the enemy.  Earlier this week I took advantage of the gorgeous sunny day, by staying indoors and “getting myself organized”. See photo below for proof.

I felt super accomplished. Next week I’m thinking of getting super bold and re-grouting the tub.
